Privacy Policy - The Basics
Who we are
Muhammad Ali Consulting is the trading name used by Ali Tariq, an independent consultant based in Lahore, Pakistan. It is not a registered company; it is a name under which Ali Tariq provides advisory services as an individual. For the purposes of data protection law, including the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Ali Tariq is the data controller responsible for your personal data.
You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@muhammadaliconsulting.com.
What we collect
Technical and usage information. Like most websites, ours is built on Wix and uses Google Analytics and Google Search Console. These tools may collect standard technical data such as your approximate location, device and browser type, pages visited, the search terms that led you here, and how you arrived at the site. This is used to understand how the site is performing, not to identify you personally.
We keep data collection to a minimum. Depending on how you interact with the site, we may collect:
Information you give us directly. If you email us or book a call, we receive your name, email address, and anything you choose to share in your message or during scheduling.
Booking information. Calls are scheduled through Calendly. When you book, Calendly processes your name, email, and chosen time on our behalf and shares those details with us. Calendly's own privacy terms apply to their handling of your data.
How we use it
We use personal data only to respond to enquiries, schedule and hold calls, understand and improve how the site is used, and meet any legal obligations. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Legal basis
Where GDPR applies, we process your data on the basis of your consent (for example, when you choose to contact us or accept analytics cookies) and our legitimate interest in operating and improving a professional services website.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses cookies, including those set by Wix to keep the site working and by Google Analytics to measure usage. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and where required you will be asked for consent before non-essential cookies are set. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of the site function.
Sharing your data
We share data only with the service providers that help us run the site and our work, currently Wix (hosting), Calendly (scheduling), and Google (analytics). Each processes data under its own terms. We do not share your data with anyone else except where required by law.
International transfers
We operate from Pakistan, and the providers we use may process data in other countries, including outside the UK and EU. Where data is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains appropriately protected.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law, and delete it when it is no longer needed.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EU, you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access it, correct it, request its deletion, object to its use, and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@muhammadaliconsulting.com and we will respond within the timeframe the law requires. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
